From My Heart

Sixteen

By Angie Strefling August 15, 2026

To be sixteen again, cruising down a country road

Toes out the window, living by the girl code

Breeze in your hair, hearing birds in your ears

What a time to be alive, we all would cheer

Young minds are filled with big dreams and ambition,

Before harsh reality changes our mission.

Life gets too busy, the burdens get heavy,

No time for carefree night rides in the Chevy.

Instead, your life fills with a new kind of laughter,

As you step into a rewarding new chapter.

The past was a dream, but the future is bright,

I’m trading those wild days for stars in the night.
